For over 30 years, Rolando Damian Rodriguez has led fundraising campaigns and created new revenue streams for humanitarian causes. He has designed, launched, and managed dozens of innovative programs and generated millions in new revenue. His expertise in developing fundraising foundations and engaging boards has helped many non-profit organizations expand their revenue exponentially.
In 2012, Rolando launched Crosspoint Philanthropy to provide non-profit organizations with board development, strategic planning, and fundraising support. Initially focused on South Florida, he has branched out to launch and design various programs nationwide. He also designed international healthcare development programs in Latin America, South Florida, and the United States.
As President and CEO of the Jackson Memorial Foundation, Rolando established the country's most successful public hospital foundation, raising over $200 million for programs such as Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center and Holtz Children’s Hospital. He led an organization with over 100 employees responsible for fundraising, grant development and management, project management, international business development, and customer service and hospitality programs that helped transform Jackson Memorial Hospital into its current brand as a global medical center.
As the founder of the International Kids Fund, Rolando also led global fundraising programs that raised millions to provide life-saving care to seriously ill children worldwide.
As the founding Executive Director of the Catholic Health Foundation, Rolando led the funding of new health programs for the Archdiocese of Miami, including Genesis, one of the nation’s first living facilities for people with AIDS.
Rolando led the creation of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Foundation, where he helped recruit a prestigious Board of Directors, developed new grant programs, and launched membership groups, leading to consistent double-digit fundraising growth. Among his most recent projects is a $16 million capital campaign for the Friendship Circle of Miami, creating a national development office and launching a $15 million national campaign for the Breakthrough Collaborative, based in San Francisco, California, developing a new $20 million "Village" for PATCHES, and helping launch a $25 million campaign for a new Ronald McDonald House of South Florida.
Rolando is committed to creating and recruiting powerful boards of directors and prominent fundraising support groups that are the basis for sustainable fundraising growth. His expertise includes designing premier donor recognition programs, peer-to-peer fundraising, and prestigious events leading to high-profile organizational branding.
Rolando is a proven strategic planning, board training, branding, and public relations leader and a skilled writer and speaker. He is a contributor to "Advancing Philanthropy" magazine and a blogger on "Myths in Philanthropy" for AP Perspectives. He has volunteered and chaired various committees, events, and programs for local civic organizations. He has served as President of the Miami Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and on the National AFP Foundation board of directors.
